Frequently asked questions ...
Q. What size tank do I need?
A. This depends on what the tank will be used for. For gardening we recommend at least 2,000 litres. We also recommend that you put in the largest tank you can either fit or afford as the more water you can store the better off you will be.
Q. How much water pressure do I get from the tank?
A. The water in the tank will be forced out by its own weight but this will not be sufficient to run a hose as you would from a mains tap. To get the same type of pressure you would from the mains, you will require a pump.
Q. What do I need to sit my tank on?
A. For all tanks the best base is a bed of level reinforced concrete. The other option is reinforced concrete pavers, sand and or crushed rock depending on tank.
Q. What does the tank come with?
A. The tank includes an inlet strainer at the top of the tank, an overflow connection and a threaded outlet at the base of the tank.
Q. Where are the fittings on my tank?
A. depending on the tank but a standard fitting configuration is offered.
Q. How do I work out how much water my roof will collect?
A. There is a simple formula for working this out. Basically, 1mm of rain on 1 square meter of roof equals 1 litre of water. As an example of how this works ... If you have a roof of 40 square meters and you get a downfall of 12mm then: 40 x 12 = 480L of water that will be collected.
